You will have to approve the two-factor authentication at the beginning of your day when you log on, and then again every 10 hours. You will also still be able to log in when “offline” such as when WiFi is unavailable, see step 8 for details.


To set up Silverfort for Windows Logon with offline use, follow these steps below:


  1. On the login screen, type your password without hitting enter, then click the link that says “Enroll an OTP token for offline access”.  A QR code will appear. 

You will use this in step 5.


  1. Click the “Send MFA” button. You will be prompted to approve a Silverfort request on your phone when you click on this.




  1. Open the Silverfort app on your phone and tap the “Add” button in the upper right corner.  




  1. Tap the “Scan QR Code” button



         



  1. Scan the QR code displayed on the laptop with your phone.



  1. There will now be a down arrow ( v ) in the upper right. Tap on the arrow and a 6-digit OTP (one time password) number will appear in the drop down.

 (The down arrow will also turn into an up arrow ^ like below).




  1. Enter the 6-digit OTP on the laptop and click “Verify”.












  1. You will now be able to use Silverfort to approve your laptop logins.* 


*Please be sure to confirm you receive this notification “offline” as well by putting your laptop on “Airplane mode” (process varies, contact the helpdesk if you need assistance.)
