To enhance Egan's security, we are implementing Silverfort two-factor authentication (2FA) for Windows Logon on all Egan laptops. This 2FA approval is required upon daily logon and then once every 10 hours. Offline logon, without WiFi, is possible through a six-digit code (see step 8).

To set up Silverfort for Windows Logon with offline use, follow these steps below:

  1. On the login screen, type your password without hitting enter, then click the link that says “Enroll an OTP token for offline access”.

  1. Click the “Send MFA” button. You will be prompted to approve a Silverfort request on your phone when you click on this.

  1. Open the Silverfort app on your phone and tap the “Add” button in the bottom right corner.

  1. Tap the “Scan QR Code” button

  1. Scan the QR code displayed on the laptop with your phone.

  1. There will now be a down arrow ( v ) in the upper right. Tap on the arrow and a 6-digit OTP (one time password) number will appear in the drop down.

(The down arrow will also turn into an up arrow ^ like below).

  1. Enter the 6-digit OTP on the laptop and click “Verify”.

  1. You will now be able to use Silverfort to approve your laptop logins.*

*Please be sure to confirm you receive this notification “offline” as well by putting your laptop on “Airplane mode” (process varies, contact the helpdesk if you need assistance.)
