How to change your Default PDF editor

  1. At the bottom left corner of your screen click on the magnifying glass icon and on its search bar type “Default Apps”. When the search results come up click on the option that says “Choose a default app for each file type”.

  2. Once the ‘Choose default apps by file type’ window opens up and is populated (can take a few seconds), looking from the left pane of the window scroll down to find “.pdf”.
Once you find “.pdf” you will be able to see what application is set as the default to open those files to its right. If the application is set to Microsoft Edge please click on it and choose PDF-Xchange Editor or Revu (Bluebeam).

  3. Once you have selected your preferred PDF editor you might get a pop-up window asking you to reconsider trying Microsoft Edge, you don’t want that so click on “Switch anyway”. Once you do that your computer will freeze for about 5 seconds which is normal as your PDF files are being redirected to open with your chosen PDF editor during that time. Once that's done you can close all windows.
